2025-26 Dance Season Class Description

 This is a great starter sample class to get your child dancing and learn 3 styles of the basics of dance in a fun engaging method with a curriculum designed for preschool learning. This class involves fun props and twinkle bear dancing.

 This class is designed as an introduction to dance technique and skills with Ballet and Tap styles in a follow the teacher manor.  Students will learn an introduction to basic dance technique in a fun yet structured class of movement.  Students will learn points, heels, plie, releve, toe/ heel taps, shuffle, toe, ball change, high/med/low movement, and creative movement.  Students will use props in learning coordination skills.  A choreographed ballet and tap song will be taught to cute fun themed music.

 This class is for the dancer who wants to move and groove. Students learn pre-hop movement to fun upbeat music and do floor work to build muscle and coordination skills. This is a popular dance style for students who have a passion for moving!

 This class is for the dancer who wants to move and explore basic jazz dance.  Class begins with a fun warm up stretch series. Creative movement and action songs follow with the use of props.  Students are then taught a fun choreographed dance that builds each week and basic jazz terms.  Themed classes, movement stories, and Holiday seasonal music will be used throughout the year.  Students in this class will learn to balance, weight changes, right and left sides of the body, creative movement, memorization of dance movement and have a passion for moving!

 This class is for the boy or girl dancer who has a passion for dance and wants to move using beginning commercial Hip-Hop styles of dance!  Class begins with a warm up stretch series. Students then learn basic technique steps and a warm up combination.  Lastly, a choreographed dance is taught that builds upon itself each week. Upbeat  Top 40 songs are played, and Holiday seasonal music will be used throughout the year.  This class emphasis is on creating lifelong active movers and building a passion for dance.  Students will learn Introductory dance technique and steps, memorization of dance movement and build on a passion for moving! Curriculum based on the California State standards and frameworks used for public and private schools dance education.

 This class is designed for higher beginning dance students to learn basic technique in Jazz styles of dance.   Class begins with jazz with a stretch series, then moves to basic jazz technique steps (pivot turn, cross touch, pas de bourree, chasse, grapevine), and then a building choreographed jazz dance.

 This class is designed for dance students to learn technique in Ballet/ Tap dance.  Class starts with ballet dance barre warm up, across the floor and center floor work.  Followed with a tap barre warm up and technique (maxi ford turn, cramp rolls, flap ball change, waltz clog time step and basic rhythm steps)  A building of choreographed ballet and tap dance will be learned.

 This class is designed for beginning dance students to learn basic technique in Tap dance.  Class starts with tap warm up and technique (maxi ford turn, cramp rolls, flap ball change, waltz clog time step and basic rhythm steps)  A building of choreographed tap dance will be learned.

 Dance with Poms is upbeat commercial jazz dance. It is a performance style that involves the use of pom-poms as props, often seen in cheerleading and college dance teams.

 Contemporary is more creative movement with a jazz technique. It is a blend of classic jazz techniques with modern dance elements. It incorporates improvisation, fluid movement, and a focus on expression.

 Classes designed for the Beg., Intermediate/Adv. dance student to learn technique and skills in Tap dance. Class starts with tap warm up, short combinations, and technique (time steps, traveling time steps, rhythm combinations.)  A building of a choreographed routine.
